SLIDE OF THE WEEK

The Neon Boneyard is the heart and soul of Las Vegas.

To stroll thru this time-travel treasure trove of over-the-top, mostly mid-century, vintage Vegas signage and other extraordinary Sin City artifacts is like being transported to some sort of parallel universe, where you are thrilled to feel about 3 feet tall. The signs are way, way bigger than you thought, when you are standing right next to them.

SLIDE OF THE WEEK

The Mint casino

A lone soul stands centered on Fremont, the most electrifying street east of the Mississippi. He's probably hypnotized because the moment is rare when sunlight and shade are divided so evenly between the most fashion-forward façade on Earth and the high-gloss, low-price cars parked in front of it....

SLIDE OF THE WEEK

Jackpot City

A just-about-to-turn-night sky glows over the most colorful and electrified downtown on the planet. Welcome to Fremont Street where the dusk-to-dawn display of lights is more than impressive -- it's empowering! The winking, blinking, flashing and glittering lights are magnetic and intoxicating, ultimately seducing us to gamble.

This Is So Many Kinds Of "Yes!"

Shining Shriners

This is so many kinds of “Yes!”

YES to the giant paint-by-number desert sky.

YES to this bizarre brotherhood of man who, for as far as the eye can see, proudly prance in unison.

YES to the fanciful façade of the short-lived Silver Palace and sky-scraping blade sign that, in case anyone forgets, reminds them what city they’re in, on this, the most electrified main street in the USA.

And YES to those uniform festive fezzes, sunshiny satin shirts and poofy pantaloons that are beautifully color coordinated to the City of Sin they are marching through!

Here’s to Shiners marching and matching Fabulous Las Vegas…YES!

SLIDE OF THE WEEK

Fremont Street, Las Vegas

A '57 Chevy convertible, ’55 Buick and ’57 Dodge drive down the Main Street USA of Las Vegasland. A ’58 Edsel, with that famous horse collar grille, is parked on the left. Yes, just like downtown Los Angeles, Las Vegas reminds me of Disneyland.
