SLIDE OF THE WEEK

Knott's Berry Farm Retro Slide Show

A gent sports a slicker, smokes a cigarette and cradles a little girl clad in a cape. She’s sipping something, most likely boysenberry punch. The two of them are both prepped for wet weather, but the lady is not. She has no rain gear to speak of just red painted lips accentuating her cheeky smile and a simple-yet-stylish suit.

As countless visitors of Knott’s Berry Farm have over the years, these fine folks pose proudly with Handsome Brady and Whiskey Bill, gold prospectors permanently benched in Ghost Town. If this isn’t a classic Southern California Kodak moment, I don’t know what is!

Please join me for my all-new show, THE RETRO KNOTT’S BERRY FARM SLIDE SHOW, where I’ll show and tell the story and glory of the boysenberry birthplace that blossomed into America’s first theme park by way of a fried chicken dinner!

Sunday, May 15, at 5pm at Knott’s Birdcage Theater (2pm show – sold out). Tickets are $65 which includes an all-day Knott’s pass!

SLIDE OF THE WEEK

Knotts' Berry Farm

Two dapper gentlemen flirt with Cecelia and Marilyn, the most popular ladies in Buena Park. They never need to be fed or paid -- just repainted. Over the years these fiberglass females inspired countless Kodak moments for millions visiting Don Knott's Berry Farm. Claude Bell, the man that built the big dinosaur in Cabazon, California sculpted them in the late 40s. They're so masculine. They look like men in drag!
