A Fruity 4th Of July Twist On The Cherpumple!

To take your big 4th of July blowout to the next level, I’ve created a red, white and blue summer version of The Cherpumple.

The Cherpumple, a three layer cake, each with a pie baked into it (CHERry, PUMkpkin, and appLE), is an original recipe from the Charles Phoenix Test Kitchen and the most talked about dessert to come along in years.

The Christmas Turducken Of Desserts !!! ...

Cherpumple is an original recipe from the Charles Phoenix Test Kitchen, and the most talked about new dessert to come along in years.

It’s a three-layer cake with a pie stuffed in each layer. YUM! Cherpumple is short for CHERry, PUMpkin and apPLE pie. The apple pie is baked in spice cake, the pumpkin in yellow and the cherry in white. I DARE YOU TO TRY IT AT HOME!

Cupcake variation on a cherpumple

No one was thrilled with the Cherpumple idea for our New Year’s get together so I decided to make a pie inside of a cupcake.

I made mini apple pies with a homemade apple mixture and store bought pie crust. I baked those in the mini tins, then I made a french vanilla box cake (with vanilla pudding and sour cream), then poured it over the pies in regular sized cupcake tin (inside cupcake papers).

I baked them and then made a cream cheese frosting to decorate on top. They are interesting. I am surprised they turned out.

SLIDE OF THE WEEK

Apple Pies

Some say as American as apple pie. I say As AmeriCANA as Apple Pie. Apple Pie is one of the few edible icons of Americana. It's really at the top of the list right alongside hot dogs, hamburgers, Jell-o, and let's not forget ambrosia! I love apple pie - always have - always will. Not the frozen type however.
