Charles Phoenix and His Big Retro Slide Show — San Francisco

Charles Phoenix and His Big Retro Slide Show a deep-fried and delicious mix and mash-up of the very best of Phoenix’s massive collection of flea market-found vintage Kodachrome slides. Together with his infectious enthusiasm and keen eye for oddball detail, Phoenix roasts and toasts mid-century tourist traps, theme parks, space age suburbia, car culture, festive fashions and more…in color! Audiences from coast to coast enjoy his gracious wit, colorful suits and original spin on the Americana experience.
SHOW IS SOLD OUT!!!!

Yes, Finally! My family in Los Angeles are regulars on Charles’s walking tours and at his slide shows. We have his book of vintage Hawai’i. Can’t wait for his visit to S.F.
I recommend visits to the Tonga Room and the Persian Zam Zam Room.
Finally — A San Francisco appearance! We’ve got our virtual e-tix and we can’t wait to see the show at the Roxie!
P.S. Mid-century has been sacrificed to trend in much of Valencia corridor, except for pricey antique shops. However, Paxton Gate has much of interest (kind of like Luz de Jesus/Soap Plant in LA), Lucca Ravioli has been around for a century or so, and there are many fine taquerias, food trucks, and dive bars hanging on in the area … have also heard Thrift Town on Mission St. nearby is great …
