My Thanksgiving crew loves to do a turducken. This year, we had not only a turducken, but a quaduckent: a quail inside a duck inside a pheasant. I knew the cherpumple was for us. I followed your directions exactly! I baked the pies and let them rest in the oven over night. The next day I baked them in the cakes and also let them rest in the oven over night. That seemed to be the key to a sturdy cherpumple. It was a big hit and even tasty! Thanks for giving me the inspiration to challenge my baking skills.
