When the Cherpumple started burning up our Facebook feeds again this fall, we at Phoenix New Times’ food blog, Chow Bella, were just getting ready for our first Pie Social. So with Village Voice Media’s usual fierce dedication to journalistic excellence, I was embedded for 2 1/2 days with a kitchen full of ingredients.

My blog post yesterday about the experience is probably the most popular thing I’ve written since I toured the Star Trek exhibit. I just got home from Pie Social, and a couple of the tasters said a better name for the Cherpumple is “Best Idea Ever.” Thank you, Charles!

    Hi,

    I’m from SW Louisiana and a transplant to Charleston, SC. area. I will definitely pass this one around. Just think, next holiday season with Turducken as a main course and Cherpumple as dessert. AH! The ERs in Louisiana will be full after the New Years.
