Felt Guitars in Bob Baker: This is Your Life!
1970s vintage dancing felt guitars playing themselves take center stage at a puppet show extravaganza this labor day weekend. at the “Fantasyland” of Downtown Los Angeles, The Bob Baker Marionette Theater – a landmark since 1961. Metallic Martians from outer space, glow-in-the-dark dancing skeletons and fez wearing monkeys along with dozens of other vintage handmade Bob Baker puppets appear in a wide variety of amazing musical/comedy acts from every decade since the 1930s.
I will host the colorful tribute to the worlds greatest puppeteer and puppet show extravaganza and tell the story of Bobs life and 75+ year career as a puppet showman with a short film and vintage slide show. Cake and ice cream reception will follow the final act – a performance by he master himself!
Here’s to Bob Baker, his amazing Marionettes and YOU!!

You are telling Bob Baker’s life, but are you forgetting the his long time business partner, Alton Wood and his MAJOR contribution and 75 year history in the business as well?
Alton Wood was 50 percent of the business.
and he is missed by many.
I love your slides
Charles… you were great. What a showman. Fantastic. I started my long path of puppetry being introduced to open air, thrust stage, theater- in -the -round marionette puppetry at the San Bernardino Orange show when I was 9 years old. Bob Baker and Alton Wood were in the Show. I started my career that day. Your presentation was a show of love and comedy… both the absurd and the unique poetry found at the Bob Baker Marionette Theater. I brought 7 great friends to the final show… Thanks… IT could not have been better… funny, sad, retro, new and the ice cream… Wow. I was 9 years old again. Thanks… I am a new fan. I have many great stories about working at the Bob Baker Marionettes… I will never forget.

love it
Went to this and thought it was great! A friend brought me, I had never heard of Bob Baker, but now I am enthralled! What a great performance by everyone! One of the most entertaining evenings I have had in a long time!
I motion that we campaign for Johnny Depp to portray the inimitable Bob Baker in a movie based upon his life (directed by Tim Burton of course).
Those 2 could be the real-life puppets created by Bob. Any Producers out there?
