The Spruce Goose is now the centerpiece of the Evergreen Air & Space Museum in McMinnville, OR, south of Portland. The museum is wonderful, the plane itself is staggering, and next year, one of the Space Shuttles will be on display as well. Definately worth the trip!

Hey, Bill, seem to recall that the Goose took a slow barge up the coast, from it's long-time domed home in Long Beach to Seattle a few years back.

Since it's old dome has become a very popular sound stage, notably used for those enormous outdoor sets of Batman, etc.

OK, a quick googling: http://www.sprucegoose.com/

I am always thrilled to get my Slide of the Week, but when this one showed up in my in box just after I had seen the Aviator, I was in awe.

Usually the slides are slice of life snaps that capture people and places from a bygone era. But this slide was different, it was a moment in history, never to be forgotten.

Thank you for sharing this photo of an amazing sea bird with all of us!
