A lot of punk and ska bands played there. The LA ska scene had its heyday at the Hong Kong Cafe. Inside Realm, they have pictures of bands performing there. It caused my present irrational fear of all monkies. This was the ultimate L.A. fantasyland, like Disneyland, but real life.
