I turned 10 years old that day and was a little frightened by the sellers hawking their wares. One man shoved a bowl of weird looking candy under my nose & insisted I eat some! I thought everyone was from Arabia and that the sweet treats may be laced with poison! I'm sure I got that from my mom, a stylish yet paranoid Okie. That night we rushed home in order to watch the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. I had the best times in the desert as a kid. No wonder I love mid century modern so much.....
